On March 12 of this year, Forrester, an American market research company that provides advice on existing and potential impact of technology to its clients and the public, released its Now Tech: Digital Operations Platforms, Q1 2020 report which acted as an overview of 21 DOPs. From Forrester’s perspective, digital operations platforms can be used to adapt production and supply chains to meet customer expectations; account, bill and measure the success of new pricing models and ventures; and ultimately empower employees through automation, AI and new interfaces.
Representatives of the global analytics firm often refer to a transition away from somewhat antiquated enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to the more up-to-date, flexible alternative of digital operations platforms; indeed, while ERP systems of the past have been largely inflexible, expensive to upgrade and poorly suited to modern digital businesses, we here at Vizen now see the beginning of a new era of operations technology – as does Forrester.
According to Forrester executives, in order to realize the aforementioned benefits of DOPs, users first have to select from a diverse set of vendors that vary by size, functionality, geography and vertical market focus. Further, application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals are advised to use Forrester’s report to understand the value they can expect from a DOP provider, and to select one based on size and functionality.
For our part, Vizen has built its AI solution, known as EmpoweredAI, on a cloud infrastructure of this digital operations platform, which catalyzes collaboration and decision-making to increase performance and profitability, providing clients with the right insight to stay ahead of the competition.
Our company leaders aim to “enhance the business of the business” from SMBs to enterprise level in the industries of life science, logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, finance/insurance and other B2B consumer entities.
